Challenge
This customer called Olympic Restorations Systems to clean the air ducts throughout their home. When Olympic Restoration Systems was contacted for a quote for cleaning of the duct work, we scheduled them with one of our Specialists for an assessment and quote. Once received, they proceeded with an air duct cleaning with Olympic Restoration Systems. We removed the air registers and cleaned them. Then we used a HEPA vacuum for the diffuser box and the surrounding area. We cleaned the ducts using a negative air system combined with compressed air whips to break the debris free from the ducts. With this type of air duct cleaning, each duct is attached to a power negative air machine which draws 3500 cubic feet per minute through the duct and into the system. The system has three stages of filters with the last one being a HEPA filter which assures nothing is released into the home. We used a HEPA vacuum for the coils and the blower. We cleaned the supply and return plenums. We cleaned the plenum by using a HEPA vacuum. We treated it with an EPA registered antimicrobial solution. We finished by re-attaching all the ducts and assuring they were properly sealed.
This customer called stating that he had just recently purchased the home and found that he believed there was mold in the crawl space from a plumbing leak. He also believed that there may be mold in his house. We sent a System Designs Specialist, Ross, to the home for a free estimate. Ross found evidence of a moisture problem in the crawl space and presented the homeowner with a proposal to fix the crawl space. This Cedar Hill customer had a leak in the condensation hose in the attic. Over time it caused moisture in the ceiling and wall of the closet which lead to significant mold growth. Our company set up airscrubbers that ran for 24 hours in the contained area. We contained the area and removed the sheetrock, carpet and door opening. The floor was HEPA vacuumed and the entire contained area was HEPA vacuumed. Using an EPA registered anti-microbial solution the contained was cleaned along with the floor, walls, and ceiling.
