We capped the existing blown insulation with TruSoft™ cellulose. We added 7 inches of cellulose insulation to the existing insulation to provide a combined R-value of 49. We installed over the top of a can light and sealed it with ZypFoam polyurethane foam around all edges and any holes that had been made for their electrical wires. We installed 7 more can light covers and sealed around them, throughout the attic, to prevent the airflow up from the interior of the house as well as to protect the recessed lighting from overheating.
